Businesses are supporting staff with additional employment benefits.

For obvious reasons the Wellbeing of employees has been an area of increased focus for many New Zealand businesses over recent years.

This has again been very evident this week as we talk to clients who operate in the locations devastated by cyclone Gabrielle. Their focus has been first and foremost the safety and wellbeing of their staff.

A number of these companies have recently added services and benefits in their employment contracts enabling their employees and their families to access and receive support when needed or when times are tough.

The 2022 NZ Staff Turnover survey reported that in 2021/2022, 57.7% of companies had increased the employment benefits available to their employees.

Of that 57.7% of companies, 68.4% had increased benefits related to either wellbeing programs, additional annual leave provisions, health, life and income protection insurances and flexible work options.
