About the role

The business now require the talents of a high performing Product Development Manager to lead the Innovation, Packaging and Process Development functions. This leadership role offers a blend of both stragetic and hands-on responsibilities very much focused on making things happen to ensure the company meets its commercial objectives. You will:

  • Be a role model to the Product Development Department – promoting a values-based culture and driving for optimal team performance.
  • Develop, recommend, lead and implement the Development strategy, building a clear Innovation pipeline which balances risk and ensures delivery of business targets.
  • Deliver successful lean, rapid and profitable Product, Packaging and Process Development.
  • Manage the Product Development cost centre and budgets. Provide input to Capex feasibility and developments that support innovation.
  • Provide technical support to the wider business.

 

Skills and Experience

This role will appeal to a confident and experienced Development Manager looking for an influential role within a highly complex, market driven business.   Key attributes sought include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science/Technology.
  • Viewed as ‘an expert’ in Food Technology, with knowledge in the areas of nutrition, product and packaging information.
  • Proven experience in strategy development and project management.
  • Experience in the use of Stage Gate processes and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Commercial acumen, results driven, and superior communication skills.
